Michael Zitzmann is responsible for consulting and developing relationships with partners of Desert Wind Films. Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Michael (or “Mickey” as his friends call him) attended The University of Michigan where he received an undergraduate degree in Marketing. As a freshman at U of M, Mickey was a walk-on member of the nationally ranked Wolverine basketball team. Despite only being 5’6” tall, he was able to overcome the odds and play alongside two of the members of the “Fab-Five” (Jimmy King and Ray Jackson), a NCAA hoops legacy. Mickey began his initiation into the entertainment industry in production, interning for Mandalay Entertainment (Donnie Brasco, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Score, Wild Things) on the Sony Pictures Lot. ![]()
While in Los Angeles, he established a relationship with Disney and was one of only 40 people nationwide to be selected into their prestigious internship program. Mickey was responsible for promoting and marketing Disney’s films, bringing together various media outlets to help create the “buzz” that is essential in a projects success. He then honed his sales and marketing skills, working for Dish Network and DirecTV affiliates in southern California during the early stages of the satellite television boom. In conjunction with his sales and marketing opportunities, he became involved with the theatrical side of the industry, performing in various plays, films, and television projects over the past few years. Zitzmann’s extensive training in multiple aspects of the entertainment industry (production, marketing, and acting); make him a viable asset as The Director of Investor Relations at Desert Wind Films.
